    What versions of RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++Builder does Kai work with?
    Kai is compatible with versions 12.X and 13.X.

    What editions of RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++Builder does Kai work with?
    Kai is available for Professional, Enterprise, and Architect editions.

    Can an eligible academic institution purchase Kai with an academic license?
    Yes. Kai is available for both commercial and academic licenses. Academic Kai licenses are subject to the same eligibility requirements as the base license academic license terms.

    Can I purchase Kai for use with my Community Edition license?
    No. Kai is only available for Professional, Enterprise, and Architect editions. To find out how to upgrade from Community Edition, contact us at info@alfasoft.com.

    Is there a free trial available for Kai?
    Yes. A 30-day free trial is available for customers who want to evaluate Kai prior to purchase.

    Is Kai a perpetual or subscription license?
    Kai is a subscription license. Note that the base product (RAD Studio, Delphi, or C++Builder) is available as a perpetual license.

    Why does Kai use a subscription model instead of perpetual?
    Kai is designed to deliver continuously evolving capabilities, which is best supported through a subscription model.

    How does Kai licensing work in relation to my base product?
    Your Kai subscription is tied to the support and maintenance dates of your RAD Studio, Delphi or C++Builder license. The two must remain in sync because Kai requires an active base product license to function.

    What happens to Kai if my base product support or maintenance lapses?
    If your base product support or maintenance expires, Kai will no longer function. You would need to renew your base product support before Kai can be used again.

    Can I purchase Kai independently, without a RAD Studio, Delphi, or C++Builder license?
    No. Kai is an add-on and requires an active license for RAD Studio, Delphi, or C++Builder to operate.

    Can I add Kai mid-term, after my base product renewal cycle has already started?
    Yes, but your Kai subscription will be aligned to your existing base product support and maintenanceend date, so the initial term may be shorter than a full year.

    How do I order Kai
    Kai is a subscription-based license that can only be used in combination with a RAD Studio, Delphi or C++Builder license with an active maintenance.

    Interested in purchasing a Kai subscription*?

    There are three available licensing options depending on your current setup:

    ● I am a customer with maintenance – Contact Alfasoft for a co-termed Kai quote.

    ● I am a customer without maintenance – Contact Alfasoft to upgrade your license to latest version which will also include an activate maintenance to acquire your Kai license.

    ● I do not have a license yet – Contact Alfasoft for a Bundle quote inluding a new RAD Studio, Delphi or C++Builder license together with Kai.

    *Kai subscription can only be purchased together with an active maintenance agreement for RAD Studio, Delphi or C++Builder. The price for a full 12 month period is €224 per licence. A Kai subscription is required for each active product licence. For example, if you have three active Delphi maintenance agreements, you will need to purchase three Kai subscriptions.
