Statistical Thinking: Understanding statistical results in scientific studies
Unfortunately, there is still some misconceptions about how to interpret statistical results. For example, you may think a statistically significant result is also an important result. In this course, we will discuss why it is not and what other aspects you should take into account when you interpret the results of scientific studies. We will also provide a brief overview about which statistical method is best to be used in which situation.
During the course you will have the opportunity to ask your own questions and have them answered by our statistics experts.
The training takes place in English without any specific software reference.
- Confidence intervals, effect size and p-value (significance)
- Sample size and power calculation with IBM SPSS Statistics 27 (or g * Power)
- Interpretation of various test results
- Differences between parametric and nonparametric tests
