Update: EndNote 21.2 is released!

The EndNote development team has released EndNote 21.2 for Windows and macOS!

This release includes the following improvements:

Update the Cite While You Write tools to allow document cross-compatibility between Microsoft Word (desktop) and Microsoft Word 365 (online)
Minor bug fixes and display tweaks

The EndNote 21.1 update was released 19th September 2023 and includes the following improvements:

Edit a reference in a separate window
View reference and PDF side-by-side in a separate window
Toggle the right-hand Summary/Edit/PDF pane below the library pane
Addressed an issue with Cite While You Write for EndNote online
Minor bug fixes and display tweaks
Addressed an issue with retrieving PDFs for ACS journals using Find Full Text (only macOS)
Verified compatibility with macOS Sonoma (only macOS)

Download the EndNote 21.1 update here: https://download.endnote.com/downloads/21/EN21Update.msp
Quit EndNote and Word, and run the downloaded file.
The next time you open EndNote, Go to the Help Menu and choose “About EndNote”.
If this reads EndNote 21.1 (Bld 17328), you have the latest version of EndNote installed.

Close all programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software.
From within EndNote™, click on the “EndNote 21” menu and choose “Check for Updates…” then follow the on-screen prompts.
Once the process is done, click on the “EndNote 21” menu and choose “Check for Updates…” to see if there are any more updates to run.

Open EndNote.
Click on the EndNote 21 Menu and choose “About EndNote”
If this reads EndNote 21.1.0 (Bld 19508), you have the latest version of EndNote installed. If you have an older version follow the steps below.
Download the EndNote 21.1.0 update täällä.
Quit EndNote and run the downloaded file.
The next time you open EndNote, go to the EndNote 21 Menu and choose “About EndNote”. If this reads EndNote 21.1.0 (Bld 19508) you have the latest version of EndNote installed.
