Mathcad Prime 9 is the latest version of Mathcad Prime, a technical computing software which allows engineers and scientists to create and share mathematical and engineering calculations. Some of the new features in Mathcad Prime 9 include:
Application Enhancements
Text Styles
Use Text Styles to apply preconfigured formatting to text or text regions in your worksheet. With Text Styles, you can quickly apply preferred formatting styles to different documentation elements in the worksheet. Text Styles provide an easy way to create visual consistency for documentation sections throughout the worksheet. You can reuse a specific text formatting setup by creating a style based on that setup. You can add the style to a text style gallery and apply the style to any text or text region selection within the worksheet. PTC Mathcad Prime 9.0 has several default text styles you can use, modify, or delete. You can also create new, custom text styles.

Gradient Operator
The Gradient Operator, under the Calculus Operators category, returns the gradient of a scalar function with respect to defined variables. You can evaluate the operator both numerically and symbolically.

Internal Links
Create links between a source text selection and a target region in the worksheet. Click the linked source text selection to navigate the worksheet and display the target region. The source of an internal link can be any text selection within a text region. The target region of an internal link can be any region type.

Symbolic Engine Enhancements
PTC Mathcad Prime 9 continues to enhance the symbolic engine. The following updates and enhancements have been made:
Symbolic Solving of ODEs
Symbolic solving of Ordinary Differential Equations with full support for first-order ODEs and partial support for higher-order ODEs. You can now solve linear forms of ODEs and ODEs that you can reduce to linear form.
Logarithmic Integral Functions
Adding all new Logarithmic integral functions to the Symbolic Functions category, including logarithmic Integral function and offset logarithmic integral function.
Elliptic Integral Functions
Adding all new Elliptic integral functions to the Symbolic Functions category, including the incomplete elliptic integral of the first kind, the complete elliptic integral of the first kind, the incomplete elliptic integral of the second kind, the complete elliptic integral of the second kind, the incomplete elliptic integral of the third kind, the complete elliptic integral of the third kind.
Symbolic Solve Block
You can now symbolically solve a system of equations using the find function in solve blocks. If it is possible to solve, the solution is given in terms of variable names.

Symbolic Assumption on Function
Like in existing variable assumptions, you can now use the assume keyword to make assumptions about a function result.
Definite Integral with complex limits
Symbolically evaluate definite integrals with complex boundaries.
Improvements to Calculus Operators
Improved performance and added supported use cases for calculus operators, including Derivatives, Limits, Integrals, and Summation.
General keyword improvements
Improved functionality and added supported use cases for keywords, including solve, series, parfrac, confrac, assume.
General function improvements
Improved functionality and added supported use cases for functions evaluated symbolically, including Jacobian, Root, Integral transforms, laplace and invlaplace.
Numeric Engine Enhancements
PDESolve in Solve Block
Partial Differential Equations can now be evaluated in solve blocks using the new pdesolve() function. The pdesolve function returns a function or vector of functions that solves a one-dimensional nonlinear Partial Differential Equation (PDE) or system of PDEs, with n independent equality constraints for an nth order differential equation.
General function improvements
Improved functionality and added supported use cases for functions evaluated numerically, including onefn, lowpass, odesolve (in solve blocks).
Usability Enhancements
Custom Colour Picker
All colour selection menus are enhanced to include a custom colour menu. You can select any custom colour for Text highlighting, Math, Math highlight, and 2D plot trace colour.

Go-to Page
You can now navigate the worksheet by entering the page number at the bottom left corner of the PTC Mathcad Prime 9 window.

Current Page Tooltip
When you use the vertical scrollbar, a page number tooltip appears in the top right area of the worksheet.
Math region to Text region conversion
When entering the worksheet’s content, Mathcad defaults to a math region. You can now press the spacebar within the math region to convert the content to text in a textbox.
Mathcad Prime 9 offers a range of new features and improvements, making it a more powerful and user-friendly tool for engineers and scientists working on complex mathematical and engineering calculations.
