This course is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to use NVivo, how to build a new project and explore and visualize their data. On two consecutive days you will receive a step-by-step introduction from importing files, to organizing, coding and exploring them in NVivo. A individual follow-up session in the week after the course will ensure a sound learning experience for every participant.
In addition, the participants will get the option to inform the trainer about their experience with QDA software, the type of data they are working with, and specific questions they have for the training. This way the trainer can customize the course to the needs of the specific group.
You can ask questions during the course and it is designed so that you can follow along step by step. Additionally, you will receive a recording, so that you can practice after the course at your own pace.
The course is conducted in English using the latest version of NVivo 15 for Windows, but it will also fit NVivo 14 users.
Content:
Starting with the basis of your NVivo project, on day one you will learn how to create your own NVivo project, and how to import text and PDF files. Furthermore, we show how to code, write memos and attach annotations to your data. You will also learn how to save and back-up your project file and how to export a codebook. We will show you different coding techniques, how to refine your coding structure and how to review the coded references. Furthermore, we will introduce cases and classifications as vital part of your project set-up. Finally, you will learn how to explore your data by using lexical queries.
On day two, we will deepen our knowledge about cases and classifactions, and how to create and use them in our project. We will show you different ways of exploring your data with visual tools and complex queries. Automated coding features and the AI Assistant for an efficient analyis process will be demonstrated. Depending on the group we will introduces other types of data (e.g. surveys, media files) and how to use them in NVivo. Strategies for teamwork and the use of Collaboration Cloud will also be discussed based on the needs of the group.
